Refrigeration Systems / Johnson Eutectic Cold Plate Temperature Control

Johnson was the first to introduce this technology to transport refrigeration. Eutectic Cold Plates are the most reliable refrigeration systems available. They are designed to freeze at specific temperatures - +26°F, +22°F, 0°F, -9°F, -12°F, -14°F, -18°F and -21°F.

Cold plate systems can be mounted on the refrigerated body ceiling and/or interior walls. During the day the plates act like your blue ice packs in your picnic cooler and absorb heat. At night the compressor/condensing unit is plugged into shore power. Refrigerant passes through the plates refreezing the salt brine/eutectic solution in approximately 8 hours. Unplug and you’re ready to go with nothing to break down during the delivery route. All are designed to maintain product temperature while on the truck and during a delivery cycle of up to 12 hours. A Plate Blower can be added to the cold plate system to improve circulation and recovery.

Proven for 60+ years... eutectic cold plate systems have few moving parts, extending system life to match the life of the truck body. They offer substantially lower initial cost and significant overall operational savings.

Johnson’s scroll compressor features significant weight savings, increased refrigeration capacity, and exceptional reliability.
