| The superstructure of Johnson fiberglass refrigerated truck bodies is welded durable “C” channel steel cross sills. To ensure maximum protection against rust and corrosion, the entire superstructure is completely encapsulated in urethane foam covered with a fiberglass subpan and sealed with a marine type 1 sealant.
This drops our floor and truck bed height by 3 to 4-in. vs. our competitors. This helps with driver retention, safety and ergonomics. We don’t build a false wood floor over our cross sills like most all aluminum body manufacturers. Because our cross sills are encapsulated they are also more resistant to road salt corrosion.
Our engineered floor systems offer long term durability and virtually eliminate the possibility of broken or cracked cross sills. |
